A special message for recent visitors to the DR

After visiting the Dominican Republic, most vacationers share two types of stories.  First, they talk at length about their wonderful, relaxing vacation.  Second, they mention the poverty that they witnessed from a distance.

However, few actually return from their vacation and try to make a difference.  Since you are one of the few that have found our website, we hope you will continue to learn more about A Mother’s Wish Foundation.

A Mother’s Wish Foundation is a non-profit set up by two Americans who operate a clinic and community center in the Dominican Republic that is called Pequenos Pasitos (Spanish for small steps).  The organization provides free health care, provides free education, and works to improve health conditions for children and families in a rural community north of Santiago.

There are very few times when you can donate to a charity where 100% of every dollar serves the community and you can learn about how every dollar is spent.
