The Situation before A Mother’s Wish

Many students in the surrounding communities were unable to attend High School due to a lack of funds to buy uniforms, shoes, school supplies, etc.

Our Solution

"Doña Margarita's Scholarship Fund" is a scholarship program for female high school  students who otherwise could not afford to continue their education due to the cost of transportation, school supplies and school clothing. The Fund was founded and maintained by Nuala Kavanagh and is administered by A Mother’s Wish Foundation.
The Cost/Benefit

The number of students who receive the scholarship is determined by the amount of money available at any given time.  The positive impact for the current recipients (shown below) has been incredible.  As ongoing funding is contingent on passing grades in all subjects, students say it gives them an incentive to study harder
