The Situation

Every community needs to know how many people live in a community and who they are.

How it is used

The Foundation uses this information to prepare packages of donated clothes to a family and to verify vaccination compliance. Without the census data, if a mother never brought her children for a vaccine, the clinic would not know that they were non-compliant with vaccination.

The Benefit

The census provides us with general information for use in our programs. For example, since we know from the census that 15% of the population is illiterate, we use visual queues as well as written words for our “charlas”.
